A one day workshop offering you practical tips you can use in your museum to make it more accessible to an audience with differing needs. All speakers have real world experience of working to make their galleries and workshops accessible to a range of different needs, from establishing an Access Panel to developing specialised gallery signage.

About the speakers;
Ellen Lee, Learning Producer for the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, will be talking about the Autism Accreditation Access Award and how you can work towards it in your museum.
Becki Morris, Assistant Curator for Heritage and Culture Warwickshire, will talk about the Disability
Co-operative Network which is committed to raising the profile of disabled talent to the museum, heritage and cultural sectors by sharing knowledge from disabled people and across all sectors. Hear more about the networks cross sector working to promote inclusion, sharing knowledge via its free resources via its website (www.musedcn.org.uk) and its plans for the future.
This network in partnership with Heritage and Culture Warwickshire, RAF Museum and Horniman Museum is featured in the Museums Associations Valuing Diversity: The case for Inclusive Museums and soon the Arts Council's Creative Case for Diversity.
Widgit Software, an accessible signage company based in Leamington Spa, will be speaking about the Widgit symbol system and their work with the Eden project the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. For over 30 years Widgit Software has been a pioneer in the field of developing materials for people who have difficulty in understanding and using text.
Laura Musgrave, engagement specialist, and former Community and Engagement Officer at Culture Coventry, will be speaking about becoming a Makaton-Friendly museum and working with the Makaton Charity.
Erica Munro, Exhibtions Manager for Bletchley Park, will be talking about the accessiblity work they have been doing at the Park and plans for the future. Access plan 3 year access project, audit of exsiting facilities and shaping of future plans.
Emma King and Becky Cund, from Shakespeare Birthplace Place, will be talking about redevelopment at thier sites in Stratford upon Avon, including New Place, and the embedding of accessiblilty in consultation with specific user groups.
