Dear All
I am working with a museum based in a listed historic house. At present they do not have access to the first floor for visitors using wheelchairs. It is a long-term aim to gain funding for a lift, but in the meantime they are keen to look at making the collections on the first floor accessible for these visitors.
Do you work in a historic site that has used technology to enhance access? I have talked to the client about reasonable adjustment and enhancing the facilities on the ground floor but they are very keen to hear about sites that have used technology to enhance the visitor experience (for example a virtual view/map, webcam, app etc). I would also be grateful to hear from people who perhaps started off focusing on a digital project but moved into low-tech solutions
I am happy to compile examples and repost.
Many thanks
Liz
