Dear all,
Alongside our HLF project work, we are looking to tender for a new website and would appreciate it if anyone would be happy to pass the following on to any contacts you have worked with in the past?
Whitchurch Silk Mill Trust is seeking to appoint Website Designers to develop and progress a new website for the Mill.
Whitchurch Silk Mill is a working museum, the only example in the UK of an historic silk mill open to the public, where visitors can watch skilled workers operating the machinery and then buy something in the shop made from silk woven on site.
Sustainability is key to the long term viability of Whitchurch Silk Mill. The Trust's vision statement is: "The Mill is a self-sustaining, living, industrial heritage site that weaves silk and enthrals all who walk through its doors."
We are committed to maintaining the Silk Mill as a major heritage site in North Hampshire, increasing visitor numbers, engaging more fully with the local community and increasing weaving capacity. We have 13 employees, 75 volunteers, and 25,000 visitors a year. The new website will also tie in with our Heritage Lottery funded Preserving the Fabric project, although it is not funded by HLF.
