We seek completed and accepted PhD theses in design, and in closely related fields such as design anthropology, design thinking, or design policy. We welcome full these as PDF attachments or links to digital collections that allow us to download the full thesis. We will place these theses in a digital library that we share with all contributors.
This collection is part of the Commonwealth Science and Industry Research Organization (CSIRO) Design Capacity Mapping Project that Professor Ken Friedman and I are undertaking for the Future Manufacturing Flagship collaborative research program.
We have now collected over 300 PhD theses from around the world. Collaborators who share documents will be granted access to the full collection, and to future updates.
We are interested in PhD theses from any country and in any language. At this time, we seek to expand our holdings of PhD theses from the UK and North America.
We welcome additional theses from Scandinavia, Europe, India, China and Korea. Given the growth of PhD programs in design in those regions, we have fewer theses from these regions than we should have.
We expect to publish a bibliography of the collection in 2016.
