With the proliferation of online platforms and increased opportunities for self-publishing through digital media, how can artists exploit opportunities to promote their work online whilst at the same time retain their rights to intellectual ownerships? Join the discussion with panellists Katy Beale, Director of Caper, James Huggins, Managing Director of Made in Me, Sophie Rochester, Founder and CEO of The Literary Platform and Charles Beckett Senior Officer, Digital at Arts Council England.

Making playful immersive spaces for families in unusual places
Following the success of Undiscovered and The House Where Winter Lives, join the teams behind these creative collaborations (Giulia Innocenti and Ben Lewis, Inspector Sands and Pete Higgin, Punchdrunk Enrichment) as they discuss their process with other leading practitioners in the field Sue Buckmaster, Theatre-Rites, Alan Lane, Slung Low and Paul Callaghan, Discover. Chaired by Jeremy Harrison, Rose Bruford College. In association with the Theatre of Young Audiences (TYA) Centre at Rose Bruford College.

So how can emerging artists make a living from writing and illustrating for children? Join our panellists Penny Holroyde, agent at the Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency; Kate Wilson, Managing Director at Nosy Crow; Julia Eccleshare, Children's Books Editor at The Guardian and Bridget Strevens-Marzo from The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators - British Isles (SCBWI- British Isles) to discuss how to achieve the right balance of paid time for creating the work you want to make. In association with SCBWI - British Isles.

Time to think - A Chance to Change
Discover invites you to a half day conference exploring creative approaches to enhancing children's reading for pleasure and engendering their desire to write. We will reflect on how the new English curriculum can transform reading and writing across your school. The afternoon includes:
A key note speech from Paul Jackson, Head Teacher, Gallions Primary School Newham, on the importance of using the creative arts to bring English teaching to life.
A presentation by Osbert the Avenger and The Woebegone Twins author Christopher William Hill.
A presentation led by The Literacy Tree Learning Consultants, creatively embedding grammar within the new English curriculum.
And seminars led by Discover's academic and artistic partners including Goldsmiths University Education Department, and Discover's Story Builders.
