Thanks Ken and Luke for your lengthy and informative responses. I'm
familiar with much of the historical context through Ken's other writings,
bt good to be reminded of this. I'll revisit the articles before making
further assumptions about the diagrammatic representation of this
particular idea, and how one might depict "ordering" of this kind.
Golby-Smith's diagram contains "word image" within the wider outer
"cultural system," but also has the distinct appearance of distorted
"concentric circles" shaped by the need to accommodate the list of orders.
Either way, it suggests a layered approach. If meant to read left to right
and not suggest layering the non text aspect of this needs reconfiguring.
