Dear All
Holocaust Memorial Day is the 27th January - an annual chance to remember the victims of the Holocaust, Nazi persecution and subsequent genocides in Cambodia,Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur. Many museums hold events or displays around HMD, in partnership with local schools and colleges, using the opportunity of HMD to commemorate the past and celebrate difference within our modern communities.
The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust is very keen to encourage museums to take part and offers a huge number of free resources on its website here http://www.hmd.org.uk/page/resources-your-activity including
Downloadable media - posters, films, podcasts
Survivor stories and testimonies
Drama and poetry
Music ideas
Lesson plans and assemblies for all stages from early years to post 16 and adults
A Campaign Resource Pack with instantly displayable posters and ideas for activities
The theme for HMD 2014 is Journeys - more about the theme here http://www.hmd.org.uk/resources/theme-papers/hmd-2014-journeys
Finally, each region of England as well as Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland has a dedicated HMD Support Worker to help you with advice, ideas and partnership suggestions. Find your Support Worker here
