Sarah,
Not sure if this will be relevant for you but there was an Anglia
TV series in 1988 presented by the then County Archaeologist Tony
Gregory which I believe looked at traditional life in the region - About
Britain: A Voyage round East Anglia. It might be worth seeing if it
still exists and revisiting some of the communities it looked at.

Hello all,
I've recently started working as the intriguingly titled Museum
Activist at the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket, Suffolk.
It's a new project post funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Our Museum
initiative. The aims of the role are:
- to carry out a period of research to identify and describe
communities in Suffolk and the contemporary trends and concerns that
affect them;
- then to work with a number of specific geographical communities to
explore how heritage can inspire community activism;
- and to ensure that the activities above influence how the museum
operates and what it delivers on a sustainable and long term basis.
I like to think of it as finding out what it means to be living an
'East Anglian life' today and ensuring that the museum responds to and
reflects this in all that it does.
I would love to make contact with colleagues old and new, so do feel
free to get in touch off list. I'm back in the museum sector after a
fairly long spell away (some of you will know me as Sarah Hunt,
formerly of the Science Museum, then Glasgow Museums) and it's good to
be back!
Very best wishes,
Sarah
