Are you looking for an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in Museums and Learning? The Learning Department at the Museum of London is looking for motivated individuals to join our dynamic team of School Volunteers for the new school term in September.
If you have a passion for learning and are interested in working in a museum environment, then this might be the volunteer role for you.
As a Schools Volunteer you will support school groups during their visit and ensure that they have a worry free, informative and highly enjoyable experience. Your role will include:
• welcoming school groups and helping them to the picnic area, workshop areas and galleries
• monitoring the cloakroom and picnic area during lunch times
• assisting schools during their time in the galleries; helping with worksheets and questions
• helping to ensure that schools have completed and returned evaluation forms
Previous experience is not essential as full training is provided. In return you will develop your knowledge of the history of London and museum learning, experience working in a busy and creative learning environment as well as working as part of a team.
Application forms and further details about the role can be found at http://www.museumoflondon.org.uk/Get-involved/Volunteers/Volunteering-at-the-Learning-Department.htm.
The closing date for applications is Friday 24 August. Informal interviews will be held on Friday 31st August, and the training day will be confirmed at a later date.
