I don't think there are ant blood tests for silicone that we need to do.
If searching for implant rupture, the test that should be done is
mammography to look for leakage - this will show extra-capsular spread
of implant filler.
And since PIP implants were made with mattress-grade silicone, the dead
giveaway for leakage is coils of spring steel lying outside the implant
capsule.

Subject: PIP implants
I've had a phone call from one of our local GPs. Several patients have
turned up asking for their blood tests as they have PIP implants.
Surgeons are sending patients to their GPs who don't know what to do.
Are we meant to measure silcone in these patients and if so, any ideas
on the laboratory providing this? What are others doing?
