Hi Lindsey,
Sorry - another one I wrote about setting up museums displays at a
secondary school;
Freedman, J., and Clamp, J. 2008. Natural History display at Ridgeway
Secondary School. Teaching Earth Sciences. Vol. 33. No. 2. pp15-18.
There are some lovely articles in the really early Museums Journals, if
you have any to hand. Well worth a read.
Let me know if you want any photocopying and sending over to you!

Subject: Museum/Gallery Education research enquiry
Bit of a strange one but......I remember a piece of research/report
about some co-creative exhibition work with school children done in
America (maybe!?) and wonder if anyone else could identify the source?
Bit of a long shot but here goes....
The report detailed the work of primary children developing
interpretation for an art exhibition which they invited parents/adult
visitors too. They created bags to hand out to visitors as they
entered. The bags contained plastic eyes/glasses, lips etc to help them
see the exhibits through the eyes of a child and with new perspectives.
Anyone know what the report was? Think I accessed it through Jstor or
some other research database but do not have access to these at the
moment.
Thanks,
Lindsey.

Subject: Sources for researching food
Dear All,
As part of the MuBu East Midlands Food project last year run by
Renaissance East Midlands, researcher Cynthia Brown visited many museums
across the region, and wrote a blog exploring food heritage in the many
museums she went to: http://www.mubu.org.uk/eastmidlandsfood/
She has also produced this fantastic guide to sources for researching
different aspects of food heritage which we thought would be useful to
circulate to GEM members. We hope you find it useful.
Best wishes,
Alex Woodall
