Dear Etkin - Hope you share the finished product - sounds interesting - Clay Shirky's Here Comes Everybody and Cognitive Surplus should be on your reading list. My book Collaborate to Compete (Robert K. Logan and Louis Stokes) might be of interest to some. Communities of Practice are discussed there and could be of interest for interaction designers. Also work on self-organization for social innovation, a project that is just beginning with Ramon Sanguesa and myself, might generate some material of interest for you.

Prior to this course, I've been lecturing to the same class on "Interaction Design" which covers case studies from various practices regarding to HCI along with workshops and outdoor assignments. Moggridge's "Designing Interactions" is the essential source book for this course.
