Hello everyone,
We are in the process of furnishing our medieval (c 1310) house and I 've been trying to track down the importer of quern stones from India that I used in a previous job. Unfortunately, no-one can remember the details and an internet search has proved negative. Is there anyone out there who has used the company recently? Or better still, anyone with a spare to pass on - or even a broken one? Sounds strange, but the original archaeology showed broken quern fragments, as if the lord of the Manor had caught his tenants illegally grinding their own grain, instead of at his mill, and smashed the quern. Hence, whole or broken would equally tell a story.
Thanks,
Lesley Parker
