I'm very aware of what you're saying, Joseph, but underneath our
post-modernity I feel that the basic psychological structures are just
the same (that's something again I could hold modernity and its
children to account on: of mistaking surface for substance)
I could wail on endlessly about my own situation as a writer, indeed,
I often have, but I've got fed up with the tune. It's tough for us
all, basically, and the only thing to do is to keep on with it, as we
do on this list, that's the great thing about it.
my middle name really is Joseph (and that's not code-talk!)
