Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery are opening a family friendly exhibition
on 15 September entitled 'Once Upon a Time..' which uses collections in an
interesting and exciting way to inspire creativity and stimulate
imagination. The exhibition is being led by the Learning & Access Team with
the help of the Curators, and has resources and activities to help explore
oral traditions.
A spin-off from this exhibition has been a new and exciting website which
encourages people to write stories based on objects from the Collection. We
are trying to encourage visitors to write their masterpiece and post it onto
the website. Can anyone offer advice on how we can do this? We have even
put together a competition with the local newspaper to promote this!
Anyhow, if you could take a look and offer some advice I would be eternally
grateful. Visit www.tulliehouse.co.uk/onceuponawebsite and see what you
think. Feel free to write your own story too, or encourage others to submit
a potential best-seller! JK Rowling eat your heart out! I look forward to
receiving advice from fellow GEM-listers on this beautiful sunny day in
Carlisle.
