medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear John
Thank you very much for this. I will send it on to my sister, who will be
relieved to have a safety-net for her daughter. I hope that, where three
years at Durham failed, a few months in Umbria will open her eyes to
medieval history (having achieved a 2.1 in combined arts, which included a
third history, she asked me if Charles (Stuart) II was my period!
I'm sorry I did not meet you at Leeds. I flitted between the fourteenth
century, lay piety, the Carmelites and cathedrals. I did manage to meet (by
accident) Brenda Cook (who turns out to have attended the same school -
though in a different decade) and Paul Chandler - so the list has introduced
a few of us.
I hope you have a good summer.
With all good wishes,
Rosemary

Dear Rosemary,
As it happens, my university has a summer program in Perugia in
co-ordination with the Università Italiana per Stranieri di Perugia. This
is what its present director had to say when I forwarded your query to him:

Best,
John Dillon
(and sorry to have missed you at Leeds)
