I find this quite an intriguing use of Turnitin and in itself a nice 
hook to hold a discussion on the issues of plagiarism with students. 
Are they surprised about how much information is already held in the 
Turnitin system?

Can I just give another plug for the plagiarism event on March 23rd - 
'Beyond the Search Engine' . There are some real international 
experts on this area coming to Oxford to discuss and debate the 
issues.

Donald L. McCabe, Professor of Management and Global Business at 
Rutgers University. Over the last fifteen years he has done extensive 
research on college cheating, surveying over 135,000 students at more 
than 140 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada.

Andrew Charlesworth, Senior Research Fellow, and Director of the 
Centre for IT and Law (CITL) at the University of Bristol since 2002.

Peter Taylor, Operations Director of Acumen PI, the UK's biggest 
online provider of coursework to students, and parent company of 
Coursework.info.

Dr. John Barrie, created the original architecture and fundamental 
technology behind iThenticate and Turnitin in 1994.

Dr Sara de Freitas currently works as a Senior Research Fellow at the 
London Knowledge Lab, University of London.
