Salary up to £37,140 per annum
We seek a creative educationalist with at least 4 years' senior museum
experience, a proven track record in communication and learning in a museum
context and a sound knowledge of strategic museum education issues. This
is a key post and requires a skilled manager who is able to focus on
objectives, has the enthusiasm to drive projects forward and is able to
motivate staff in order to meet key performance targets. You will be
expected to work across the Museum participating and leading
multidisciplinary teams and you will regularly advise the senior management
team on all learning related issues. You will also play a major role in the
development of our Gardens and Natural History projects particularly in
areas of interpretation and programming.

Community Education Manager
The Horniman Museum, Forest Hill, London

Salary up to £29,832 per annum
The Community Education Manager is responsible for the provision of a broad
range of educational activities for families, children, young people, adults
and community groups. We are currently expanding our community provision
through after school clubs, youth work and a programme of community
engagement through our innovative Hands On Base Gallery.
You will be a confident communicator, trainer, facilitator and evaluator.
You will be able to build and motivate audiences and work collaboratively
with other museum departments and external organisations. A major area of
the work involves the day-to-day operation of our extensive family-learning
programme. You will be an experienced programmer across all areas from
family learning to lifelong learning. The post involves regular weekend and
occasional evening working.
