"liturgiologist". It's not my coining: I am staring at a 1911 volume in the
series "The Library of Liturgiology and Ecclesiology". An ecclesiologist
is not the same as an ecclesiastic (although many were). Bishop Frere, for
example, was distinguished as both a liturgist and a liturgiologist.
Anyway, the designation of out-of-date Masses as "obsolete" is not, I
believe, mine - although I would welcome any correction on this point :-)
