How about moving it down to average eye level -but then I might pinch it??

Yes, like the proverbial helping a butterfly out of the chrysalis...
By the way, my wife named our new house 'Iris', got a ceramic artist to make
a
plaque showing blue irises, the word IRIS on a scroll, and a female face
resembling the old images of Iris Murdoch whose The Black Prince was being
read
at the time of finding the house...and now the plaque is on the front of the
house high up, where few people look...
