Subject: Snap ; Draft Four
I haven't a Snap to offer this week, but I have been working on an
earlier one, now in its fourth draft. I thought some may be interested
in seeing its progress:
THIMBLES OF GREEN TEA / draft 5
8:14, Linfen on
Thanksgiving eve,
2006, and I've been eating dumplings
with Yoko because we invited her
then drank green tea by the thimble full.
We spoke of war and
the alternatives for
USA now : drop the stick,
teach others to use the stick, or
wield a bigger stick .
we gave Yoko an Aussie keyring
as she left / a koala
sunning itself on Bondi beach / so
more dumplings for lunch tomorrow .
I read incoming email to the strains of
Charlie Haden's _American Dream_ /
forecast: two below zero with snow-
white but for a minute before
it turns black / before filthy sludge
dirties the streets of ancient Linfen /
I write between the flags to avoid
the censor's swift attack / and part
the bamboo curtain to pour
another thimble of green tea
