Subject: Ecsite-uk enhancement funding opportunity

Dear all,

I am guessing some of you know about this already but I thought it was
worth circulating - see below or
http://www.ecsite-uk.net/resources/sceag/ecsite-uk-sceag-dec-15-06.pdf
<http://www.ecsite-uk.net/resources/sceag/ecsite-uk-sceag-dec-15-06.pdf>
It's aimed as Science discovery centres/museums working in
collaboration.

From Adrian Fenton

STEM Communication Manager for London

December 2006 - March 2008

Ecsite-uk is in receipt of a funding provided jointly by the Office of
Science and Innovation (OSI) and the Department for Education and Skills
(DfES).

Grants are available to small consortia of 3 - 4 science and discovery
centres/museums in the UK for enrichment activities. These enrichment
activities are to be supported with pre- and post- event resources,
which can add value with respect to both Government objectives and
science centre missions.

These enrichment activities are to be composed of either -

*	activities conducted on-site at science centres, targeting
youngsters at the end of primary school, at the key transition point
when they can 'switch off' from science
	or
*	outreach activities conducted off-site by young enthusiastic
role models, targeting areas and schools that rarely make a visit to a
science centre

Closing date for bids is 5pm, Monday 15 January.

To support the bidding process, you are invited to attend an applicants'
workshop on 9 January 2007, 2-6pm at the Dana Centre, 165 Queen's Gate,
London SW7 5HD. To reserve your place at the workshop, please email
[log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> .
