We have just purchased a Pfaff Bilimeter 3 supplied by
Sartorius Ltd, Epsom, Surrey KT19 9QQ phone
01372-737102. This is a very nice small meter, with an
LED light source so no bulbs to change, and our
comparison studies were very good. It does use
capillaries that have to be centrifuged, but only
requires a small volume of blood. Reading is automatic
on insertion of the capillary and it can be linked to
an external printer, but does not have integral
connectivity capabilities. The company is hoping to
develop a capillary free sampling system that would
be hugely useful in a community setting.
