Following Chris's post below
Landmark Publishing is on the verge of publishing a new edition of
Hamilton Jenkin's *Mines of Devon*. This consolidates all the text
and images from both volumes of the original, including the very rare
second volume. It has an intro by Peter Claughton.
Also published this week is Roy Thompson's *Thunder Underground*.
This is an account of Northumberland mine disasters in the first half
of the nineteenth century. It has been written round the coroners'
reports and deals with the safety lamp controversy. Well illustrated.

Hi List. Can anyone help with information on the mines around the
Thurlestone, South Devon please. Any references other than Hamilton
Jenkin would be gratefully received. An article appeared in the
Western Morning News today (Monday 24th Jan.) asking for information.
If any info is placed, I hope that you would be happy for me to pass
it on to the gentleman who has requested it. Regards Chris Kelland.
