I'd just like to nip in the bud the suggestion that the Guildhall produced any bear bones. One was apparently found in a Roman level, within or close to the amphitheatre (obviously representing the remains of an animal used to entertain the crowds), and was identified on site. However, after an exhaustive search through the bone archives, this bone has not been found. The suggestion is that it is either lost, or it was misidentified. Specifically I am researching Palaeolithic exploitation of large mammals
