'Thomas Coram the man who saved children' is a children's book that tells the story of Thomas Coram and the Foundling Hospital. It is both a story book and a guidebook, it incorporates illustrations as well as a number of paintings, engravings, photographs and statues from the Foundling Museums collection. To see an example of the illustrations please go to www.foundlingmuseum.org.uk/children.
We are looking for a designer who can design every page ready for publication. Most pages include illustrations, original art works, as well as text. The text is written in a variety of formats including information boxes, speech bubbles, headings, poems, etc.
The book has been written for a target audience of 6 - 8 year olds, it will be 32 pages long, and roughly A4 in size. The book must be child friendly while also conveying the messages in the story; which in many ways is quite sad.
We are looking for a designer with both experience and enthusiasm for what really is a lovely project.
We anticipate paying a flat fee of £1,000. This will include scanning of images, all necessary design work, liaison with printers, checking colour proofs. The work will take place over summer 2005, for publication in September/October 2005
To apply please send your C.V and examples of your work by July 11th by post or email to:
