Hi Hilary
I'm sure NLB can help.
http://www.nlb-online.org/
Need to watch out for colour blindness (green/red combos can go invisible
etc)
This url allows you to check images for what they look like to colour blind
people (1 in 10 men)
http://www.vischeck.com/vischeck/vischeckImage.php
but otherwise the general rule is make it big and clear with high contrast

Subject: Guiding for visually impaired readers
We are currently looking at the shelf guiding in our libraries - not
wholesale but where it needs replacing.
We currently use in most libraries a colour combination of black on yellow
but would like to offer two or three options of colour. We are anxious that
we do not lose any clarity for those with a visual impairment.
Has anyone done any work on this? Any suggestions welcome.
Many thanks.
