medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I would suggest that French names like Fabri and Lefebvre are easily confused,
having grown up amidst French speaking people and having made mistakes like
this myself--the key is in recognizing the "le" is often ommitted and often
added. Fabri/Febvre or Lefabri/Lefebvre. I also remember a question, which I
thought funny at the time, inquiring if I had any idea who the Fayette was for
whom so many Southern towns in America were named? Duh! "LA"fayette!
Revolutionary War hero.
