medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
i'm giving a seminar next year on "popular culture in the MA"
i'd like to do some weeks on the anthropological notion of "honor-shame"
culture and its role in medieval society.
aside from the obvious examples of these dynamics at work in incidents like
the song of roland or the feud btw sichar and chramnisind, does anyone have
suggestions of either primary or secondary readings (short or long) that i
might use?
