I was at a Chemistry event once where a demonstrator poured liquid
nitrogen on the floor. He checked that no-one was wearing open shoes or
had any exposed cuts on their feet, and made everyone stay still, and
promise not to try to touch it, then poured out the nitrogen. It was
beautiful.
He also dipped a banana in it then hammered a nail into wood with the
frozen banana!
