Hello there,
We are about to embark on the development of an exhibitions strategy here at
the College, and are looking for other examples to see what has gone before.
We are an integrated Museum/ Archive and Library and intend the strategy to
set out how we intend to communicate with our visitors and other users
through displays, exhibitions and other activities. It will cover some very
practical aspects such as font size, etc - liaison with other departments
within the College, as well as setting the agenda for the three years ahead,
without tying us down to specific themes. We aim to set out knowledge of the
collections, i.e. what is available and how to find it and ideally hope to
tie in the development of this strategy with some audience evaluation.
I know this is very rambling, I hope I have explained what I mean. If any
of you have exhibition/ interpretation strategies that you are willing to
share, we would be very grateful to see them. I will compile a list of those
strategies sent to me and the contact details of the organisation for the
benefit of the list - so if you would rather remain anonymous, please do let
me know!
Kind regards
Bryony
