Frank and others
It's alright having a UN and European convention of rights, but these are only policies and will be of no benefit to the majority of disabled people in the west and the global world.
I and other disabled people in the UK are being excluded from accessing the courts on basic human rights issues.
In my opinion we can have as numerous rights thrown at us from all the power institutions, but these polices are just the rhetoric of the new-right and they are well aware that thousands of disabled people will be 'excluded' and the UN rights are unenforceable in the U.K courts without the political and moral will by the Governments to enable all disabled people to access natural justice.
How can these rights be enforced with this political and moral will?
If I was to tell the thousands of excluded disabled people who are being socially, economically and politically excluded that they had 'rights', both human and civil, through this UN convention then they will laugh in my face and I will be laughing out loud with them.
The UN can't even get the two major western powers to listen on the war on Iraq, in which will cause major suffering and pain and many innocent victims will become disabled by the war and develop physical and psychological impairments.
'Rights, what Rights ?' We may have basic 'Entitlements', but 'No-Rights', for the poor and socially excluded who can't access 'Natural Justice', in the Courts.
