>Does this Egyptian / Irish link
Has any "Egyptian/Irish link" been proven to exist? As I pointed out
earlier, there are several ways that influence on the art could have taken
place. It is always possible, too, that Irish artists could have been
influenced by Continental European imagery which in turn had been influenced
by Coptic which would have derived in part from earlier art of the region,
including Egyptian. And, though it's not fashionable to say this, the early
medieval Irish did have artistic traditions of their own which they took
with them as they traveled throughout Europe. The transmission of ideas and
imagery was probably not one-sided.

By "myth" I assume you mean "legend." There are numerous legends about the
origins of the Stone of Scone, some involving the Hill of Tara, some other
places, some with native mythology, some with Biblical stories. None of them
have been proven to have any basis in fact. Occasionally the supposed
Biblical links are resurrected by groups such as the one that wants to dig
up the Hill of Tara to uncover the Ark of the Covenant which is supposed to
be buried there according to their interpretation of such legends as the one
you cited.
