medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear List,
I am currently reading Isabel Moreira's _Dreams,
Visions, and Spiritual Authority in Merovingian Gaul_
and she makes the following statement: "One of
Gregory's servants brought sickness upon his whole
family because he had taken a piece of wood from the
railings around St. Martin's bed..." Under what
circumstances would anyone have had access to St.
Martin's bed railings? After Martin's death, was his
dwelling kept as a shrine and, if so, for how long?
Thanks very much,
MG
