Keynote Speaker: Dr David Fleming Director of the National Museums and
Galleries on Merseyside
Dr David Fleming was born in Leeds in 1952. He has been Director of the
National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside since October 2001. Previously
he was Director of the multi-award winning Tyne and Wear Museums for 11
years, where he oversaw major museum developments and a massive growth in
audiences. He is currently a trustee of the National Football museum and
sits on a variety of Boards including the Steering Group associated with
Liverpool’s World Heritage Site bid. He is a past President of the UK
Museums Association, and lectures world wide on museum management and
leadership.
