medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Carolin,
Unless I misunderstood your posting (not unlikely),
you have answered your own question in your use of
"christus" and "Christus." We tend to forget that
"christ" is an adjective and is an accurate rendition
of "anointed." As for a "switch," I don't quite follow
because what you've noted is a usage of two words with
essentially the same meaning. And your citations all
feature a form of "christus" (lower case, ergo not
proper name and not referring to Jesus specifically).
If I've made a hash of your question, I'm sure some
other list member will set us both straight.
