4 day workshop 'Getting on with your Systematic Review'
2-5 September 2002
Aims of the workshop
The workshop aims to give health professionals the skills necessary to
conduct rigorous systematic reviews of research evidence. Participants
will have the opportunity to proceed with a personal review topic.
Content
All aspects of the process of systematic reviewing are covered, with an
emphasis on clinical trials of health interventions. Sessions include:
· question formulation
· data extraction
· searching skills
· quality assessment
· inclusion and exclusion criteria
· data synthesis
Teaching is by a combination of plenary seminars, small group work and
individual work on participants' own review topics.
Who should attend?
The workshop is open to anyone conducting a systematic review of a health
care intervention. Preference will be given to those who have attended a
Cochrane protocol development workshop, or similar.
