The British Library's exhibition for this Summer is about the East India
Company, and from 27 May schools will be visiting and participating in our
workshop "The Board Game" (more details on the recently revamped
www.education.bl.uk )
To accompany this workshop, we are looking to cover two of the walls in our
Education Room with a long piece of artwork which combines a seascape with
some vignettes of Indian, Javanese and Chinese coastal scenes, partly based
on reference material in BL collections.
The whole frieze would be something like 1.5m in height and a rather long
5.9m (1st wall) plus 6.5m across on the second wall. Because of the size I
am looking for something that will be realised in fairly broad strokes!
I'd be very grateful if GEMmers would pass this on to any artists (or
artists' mailing lists) they know who work at this kind of scale and
encourage them to give me a ring or mail if this sounds like it might be of
interest.
Many thanks.
