Hello Colleagues
Many thanks to all of you who replied to my query about why secondary
schools don't use museums - I am just compiling an email of all the replies
and will send out very soon.
Meanwhile - another question....
We are about to embark on planning work to convert a sizeable downstairs
room (currently used as the carpenter's workshop) into a flexible space for
use by school parties, holiday messy activities, etc. It is not a room
where long term tableaux/displays for schools will be located or where
people visiting can casually drop in - it's a bookable space for groups
coming on an organised basis for both formal and informal learning.
If you were designing such a room - or have done so recently, or have
undertaken research with users about what they would like - what would you
say were the most important and useful features to include? Is there
anything you included in yours and wished you hadn't bothered?
I should add that we do have some idea of what we want, and will shortly be
consulting with teachers and other users for their ideas - but it would be
just great to pick other brains too.
I promise to circulate a composite email of all replies received! Please
reply off list to [log in to unmask]
Many thanks again....
