You might like to search the Wellcome Trust's library catalogue at
http://library.wellcome.ac.uk/. I suggest choosing the Entire Catalogue
option as this will search for titles both in the Information Service (which
covers contemporary issues) and the History of Medicine Library collections.
I have done an initial search and there appears to be quite a lot on science
fiction and its impact on science in society. You may have to look more
closely to see whether the public understanding perspective is covered.
The Wellcome Trust library is a public reference library and you are welcome
to visit to consult the collection. Please contact me (off the list) if you
need further details.
Regards
Louise Simon

Subject: Science fiction/Science communication
Hello all,
First of all, sorry for any cross posting.
I am currently working on my masters dissertation on what effect popular
science fiction has had on the general public's understanding of science and
technology. With this in mind I am interested in if anyone knows about past
work in the subject area or in general comments/views from the group on the
topic. Any and all leads gratefully accepted.
Thanks
Matt......
