Hello,
Have you heard of ICHIM, the International Conference on Hypermedia and
Interactivity in Museums?
The proceedings from the 1993 conference has some very interesting papers
on Museums and Interactive Multimedia, please see:
http://www.archimuse.com/publishing/ichim_93.html
You might also find something in the article
"How do visitors use computer exhibits?" by Ben Gammon, Head of Visitor
Research at the Science Museum, posted on-line at:
http://www.big.uk.com/exhibits/computer_based_exhibits_v1.htm
Perhaps not bang up-to-date, but still of use, is the Association for
Heritage Interpretation journal on "Multimedia", from 1996,
http://www.heritageinterpretation.org.uk/jouridx.htm
Although not specifically about museums, the Open University has done a lot
of very interesting reserach on multimedia, learning and education. You
might like to investigate the Centre for Educational Software:
http://www2.open.ac.uk/CES/index.html
as well as the MENO project: http://meno.open.ac.uk/
Best wishes,
