Dear GEM members
I am looking for someone who could do some live interpretation in an
exhibition about Hugh Miller in the Royal Museum, Edinburgh, between 9
March and 26 May 2002. In case the significance of Hugh Miller has
eluded you for a brief moment, let me explain: born in 1802, he was a
well-known stonemason, geologist, journalist, and commentator on the
Disruption of the Church of Scotland, when the Free Church of Scotland
(the "Wee Frees") broke away.
We would like to find somebody who could "be" a friend or colleague of
Miller (eg a fellow stonemason) who could take an audience through the
exhibition, using mini stage sets in the exhibition (such as a
stonemason's bothy or a church pulpit) to tell them about Miller's very
eventful and productive life. An authentic Scottish accent (eg a Black
Isle or an Edinburgh one) would be an advantage!
Can anyone suggest where I might find such a person?
Thanks in eager anticipation!
Christine Thompson
