Stockton Museums and Heritage
temporary documentation assistant (2 posts)
Scale 1 - £9267 - £11817 37 hours per week
Temporary to 31 March 2002
Stockton Museums Service is looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join
its small collections management team as part of a project to improve storage
and recording of the museum collections.
The project will focus on social history collections stored at Preston Hall
Museum, and textile collections stored at Green Dragon Museum.
Postholders will assist with the elimination of documentation backlogs, check
and update written records, sort and pack museum objects, and assist with the
transfer of written information to a new database.
This is an opportunity for anyone interested in working in museums to gain
experience of caring for large collections. Previous experience of museum
documentation work is desirable but not essential.
