The best test is plasma viscosity measurement with a thermostated (37 C)
cone-plate viscosimeter. Obviosly this test cannot be setup in a routine
laboratory and therefore you should send the samples to a laboratory having
such an equipment.
Cryoglobulins are detected because the plasma viscosity slowly decreases
when the sample is heated from 4 C to 37 C. If cryoglobulins are not
present the viscosity stabilizes within 5 minutes.
The test is qualitative and, as far as I know, no quantitative test exists.
