This is a common problem when faced with P/T regiemes from fluid inclusion
studies of orogenic belts or inversion structures.

If your working in the brittle-ductile, brittle field with syn-tectonic
veining you can identify the mode of vein opening i.e. the strain regieme
at that structure and then examine the P/T of primary fluid inclusions and
relate the two. You still end up having to make a few assumptions about
depth, overburden, fluid pressure though.
