Dear Geo-Tectonics subscribers,
this is to draw your attention to a session on Integrated Studies
of Earthquake-Prone Areas to be held in Nice, France 25-29 April 2000,
at the XXV General Assembly of the European Geophysical Society (EGS)
meeting.
---> scroll-down to read the call!
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is December 15th, 2000.
The submittal information and general information about the meeting
can be obtained from the EGS home page at

Call For Papers:
SE22, Integrated Studies of Earthquake-Prone Areas.
The main goal of this session is to bring together research in the
broad fields of seismology, geodesy and field geology to understand
the kinematics and dynamics of the active deformation. The session
invites contributions based on multidisciplinary studies of single
active structures to complex plate-boundary zones. Modelling of
processes associated with measured deformation from geology,
paleoseismology, seismicity, leveling, continuous & campaign GPS
and InSAR, and research on the mutual relation between the different
time-scale strain rates, are welcome. Innovative methods of observing
and quantifying deformation in low-strain areas are strongly encouraged.
An important aim of this session is also to present new and ongoing
continuous and campaign GPS arrays in the Euro-Mediterranean for active
deformation monitoring.
