Here is the information for the Post-Conference fieldtrip to North

ANGLESEY AND THE OGWEN VALLEY NORTH WALES
The excursion will involve two days in the field the 13th and 14th of
January. Transport will be from Manchester in minibuses in the late
afternoon immediately after the conference. We will return to
Manchester by 18:00 on Friday the 14th of January. It is planned to
spend the first day on Anglesey and the second day in the Ogwen Valley
North Wales.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will be in Holiday Bungalows with self-catering
facilities also a number of restaurants are located near by.
COST
The fee for the field excursion including transport and accommodation
will be stlg45. This does not include food.
WEATHER AND CLOTHING
Whilst the weather in Anglesey and North Wales can be quite pleasant
it can also be very grim (wet, cold and windy). Therefore warm and
waterproof clothing will be required along with stout walking boots.
GEOLOGY
The day on Anglesey will be spent on the Rhoscolyn head section near
Holyhead. Where multiply deformed late Pre-Cambrian Pelites and
Psamites show a wide range of deformation features. In the Ogwen
Valley we will see folded and cleaved volcanics, sediments and minor
intrusives. In the event of bad weather we will grit our teeth.
