IMO, the world has come to expect way too much, and the wrong things, of
computers. This is only one of the more ridiculous examples.
Esp., people are expecting computers to search for, and deliver, content and
meaning, and even ranked and rated and interpreted meaning - when all they do
is compare character strings and throw up matches.
It is this yawning discrepancy between unreflected and uninformed expectation
and plain reality that worries me, coupled with a reluctance, if not refusal
to listen and think.
Unless this changes, be prepared for lawsuits raised by people searching
your data, not to speak of metadata!
