WOULD YOU LIKE TO WIN £150?
Are you a student on an LIS course at a university or college?
Do you have a vision for Scottish libraries and information services in the
21st century?
Would you like to have your ideas published in Aslib's Managing Information?
If you said 'yes' to all of these, you should enter the MANAGING INFORMATION
ASLIB SCOTTISH BRANCH ESSAY COMPETITION!
Write an essay of 2000-2500 words which answers this question:
"How would you raise the profile of Scottish libraries and information
services for the new millennium?"
You may choose to focus on one area of LIS, e.g. health information,
government information, legal information, business information, academic
libraries, public libraries, school libraries, or you could write a general
overview.
You don't have to live in Scotland to enter, but we'll obviously be looking
for essays which focus on Scotland.
Prizes will be awarded at a prestigious event in June 2000...
CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS 28th APRIL 2000. Please send 4 typed or
word-processed copies to Shirleen Craig at Heriot Watt University Library,
Riccarton, Edinburgh EH14 4AS. Email [log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]> .
Please remember to include your name, address, telephone number, email
address (if you have one) and the university or college at which you are
studying.
