The EduLib Project in Association with the Scottish
Academic Libraries Co-operative Training Group (SALCTG)

Scottish Workshop Programme 1999 - One-day Workshops

Presented by the EduLib Development Team in Scotland in association
with SALCTG, the long established Scottish Academic Libraries
Co-operative Training Group. SALCTG will be continuing the work of
EduLib beyond the summer of 1999 when EduLib will cease to be funded
by JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee).

The following workshops will be delivered early in 1999 based on the
successful EduLib Programme and will be utilising materials from the
recently published Teaching for Learning in Libraries and Information
Services edited by David McNamara and Jane Core.

Teaching Methods for the Electronic Library
26th January 1999, Glasgow Caledonian University

Teaching takes place in a variety of contexts and there are
alternative methods and techniques we can employ. Methods, including
lecturing, open learning and computer assisted learning (CAL) will be
considered in the context of various models of learning.

Planning for Quality Learning and Teaching
9th March 1999, University of Abertay Dundee

There are a number of educational principles which need to be
considered to enhance the quality of learning and teaching
irrespective of the methods employed. Defining learning outcomes,
evaluation, and assessment are the most important aspects of the
planning process.

staff who have an interest in teaching and learning.
